Hand-picked grapes, small wood
The Zweigelt grape variety, bred in 1922 by Prof. Fritz Zweigelt at the Klosterneuburg Wine School by crossing Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, is today the most widely planted red wine variety in Austria.
Our vineyard is located in the heart of the Thermenregion on the Eichkogel, which is perfect for red wines and therefore the basis for this full, extract-rich and well-balanced wine. For this Zweigelt Reserve, previously selected grapes were picked by hand. The wine was stored in small wooden barrels for 14 months, it has a pleasant scent of ripe cherries, velvety tannins and a powerful finish with a beautiful length.
With increasing maturity, it gains more harmony and density, which is why the Zweigelt Reseve can be stored for a long time.
