Our story | Winemaker | Family | Vineyards and Cellar
Winery:
For over 300 years our family has been making wine in Moedling, and for the last four generations the winery has been led by female winemakers. In the year 1718 the family winery was founded and looks back on a long history.
Our entire family works together in the winery and restaurant. Birgit Pferschy-Seper, the owner and current winemaker, is renowned for her full-bodied Pinot Blanc.
Family Business since 1718:
Our winery is one of the oldest in Moedling. founded in 1718, the winery has been run by women for four generations. You can say, here is a very special “women’s power” present.
Josefine Buchgraber, the great-grandmother of winemaker Birgit Pferschy-Seper, laid the foundation for the vinophile “Weiberwirtschaft”.
Maria Buchgraber was a very innovative winemaker, who invested in the first hydraulic press in our wine growing region, after World War II. Her daughter, Margarete Pferschy (maiden name Buchgraber) expanded the winery, with the help of her husband Otto. They bought the vineyards around Moedling and renovated the cellar and restaurant.
Since 2004, Birgit Pferschy-Seper has been the winemaker. She has overseen the modernization of the cellar technology and created a wine shop.
Wine Queen:
Since August 2019 our youngest daughter, Magdalena, has held the title of wine queen. She is the reigning queen as Magdalena l. in Moedling and Wr. Neudorf.
